Taekwon-Do
Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art, characterized by punching and kicking techniques, with a particular emphasis on the kicking techniques. The name, Taekwon-Do, which is sometimes written as, Taekwondo or Tae Kwon Do, can be broken up to Tae, meaning to jump, kick or smash with the foot; Kwon meaning to punch or destroy with the hand or fist and Do meaning art or way. In short, Taekwon-Do means the art of kicking and punching. It is also a combat sport that was developed during the 1940s and 1950s by Korean martial artists.
McDowell Martial Arts
McDowell Martial Arts was founded in Warman, Saskatchewan, Canada in August 2014 by Jock McDowell. We are proud to be a Diekema Martial Arts affiliate under Mr. Clint Diekema, 4th Degree Black Belt and four-time World Champion. Mr. McDowell is a 1st degree (Dan) Black Belt under the lineage of Clint Diekema. Our governing body in Saskatchewan is the Saskatchewan Martial Arts Association (SMAA).
